The two most common side effects (if any) show up as increased sensitivity and mild irritation of the gums. Increased teeth sensitivity regularly occurs during early stages of the whitening procedure. Tissue irritation most frequently appears because of a poorly-fitting mouthpiece tray rather than the tooth-bleaching agent. Both of these conditions usually are brief and vanish within 1 – 3 days of stopping or completing the bleaching procedure.
